Completed spray foam roof projects
Commercial and residential foam roofs we have permission to publish. Each one names the building type, the city and the system that went on it.
INVISIBLE HOUSE
A polyurethane spray foam roof on a custom residence in the high desert. Joshua Tree hits a roof with harder UV and a wider day-night temperature swing than the valley floor, which makes this the toughest test of any roof on this page.
Business COMPLEX
A multi-tenant business complex where every building on the property got a foam roof. This is the reference job for an owner asking whether a foam crew can work a large occupied property without closing it.
STORAGE FACILITY
A low-slope storage roof recovered with spray foam and a reflective coating. The owner reported lower cooling costs after the work. We have not metered the building, so we are not going to put a figure on it.
YAMAHA OFFICE OC
A full commercial SPF roof restoration. We stripped the failed material, corrected the drainage before any foam went down, sprayed a monolithic foam layer, then coated it with an elastomeric cool roof system and embedded granules in the top coat for walkability. No tear-off to the deck, and the building stayed open.
STUDIO PROPERTY
A foam layer sprayed over a large low-slope studio roof for insulation and waterproofing in one pass. A production schedule does not tolerate a leak, and foam goes down without a tear-off.
Recoat or replace, and when we tell you not to spray
Most desert flat roofs we look at need a recoat, not a replacement. That is the honest answer and it is a smaller invoice.
The SPFA ran a 30-year life-cycle cost study across 6 regions including Southern California. It found SPF systems came in 13% to 56% below equivalent membrane systems over 30 years, with the savings driven by 3 things: no tear-off, recoating instead of replacing, and the reflective coating cutting cooling load. The study is from 2004, so read the percentages as directional and the mechanism as sound. The mechanism has not changed: you recoat a foam roof, you replace a membrane roof.
Here is where foam is the wrong call, and we will say so on the inspection:
The deck is wet. Foam over a saturated deck seals the water in. That roof needs removal, not a recover.
Hail country, unprotected. RICOWI documents hail divots and gouges as a primary SPF failure mode. In the valley this matters less than UV, but a roof with no granule embedment and heavy foot traffic wears through faster than an owner expects.
You want the cheapest bid. We lose those. A 1.5 inch spray with a thin single coat will always underbid a 2 inch spray with a full base and top coat, and it will not clear the code table above.
Small repairs outside the Coachella Valley and Orange County. Not a fit. Call a local roofer.
Gutter cleaning. We do not do it.
Who this page is for
Commercial building owners, property managers and HOA boards in Palm Desert, La Quinta, Rancho Mirage, Palm Springs, Indian Wells, Indio and Cathedral City. Developers, general contractors and custom home builders on the second tier.
The call we get most is a leak on an aging flat roof. That is the specialty.
Get paid for roofing referrals
Connect us with a roofing project and you get paid when it closes. Larger contracts earn a bigger payout.
Schedule a Roof Health Check
The inspection is free, and it is not a sales walk. We measure the roof, photograph what we find, and send you a written report you can hand to another bidder. Commercial or residential.
