Before you pick a roofer
How do I verify a roofer's license in California?
Go to cslb.ca.gov, search the license number, and confirm the status reads Active and the classification includes C-39 (Roofing). Any roofing job of $500 or more requires a licensed contractor, and the state actively investigates "license renting," where a company uses a qualifier's license without real oversight. Verifying a license takes about two minutes and is free.
Why is my tile roof leaking if the tiles look fine?
On most older Southern California tile roofs, the leak starts in the underlayment under the tile, which breaks down from years of heat and sun while the tile itself stays intact. A tile re-lay replaces the underlayment and flashings and reinstalls your existing tile, so you fix the leak without changing the look or paying for a full tear-off.
Is spray foam the right roof for a desert commercial building?
For flat and low-slope commercial roofs in desert heat, spray foam with a reflective coating gives a seam-free, high-reflectance surface that meets California's cool-roof requirements and lowers the cooling load. It is our standard recommendation in the Coachella Valley, Phoenix, Tucson, and Las Vegas.
